(PRESS RELEASE) JUPITER, FL – Since the pandemic, Florida-founded grooming franchise Scenthound has been expanding faster than ever. While just two months ago the brand announced its entry into the Atlanta market, a local Suwanee family has just signed to open three additional new grooming locations in the area. Lori and Ken Bonifay are looking forward to keeping the dog community healthy and clean, with the first of their three locations expected to open late this year.

The couple has a long history of owning, rescuing, and fostering dogs. When deciding to open up their own business, they chose Scenthound because of the brand’s wellness-based approach that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for dogs. Embedded in the name, Scenthound focuses on the five core areas of maintenance: Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails and Teeth. Their Scent Techs are fully trained to give each dog the care it requires — regardless of breed — and the membership program allows for dog parents to have the peace of mind that their fur family is cared for on a routine basis.

“Over the years of owning and fostering dogs, we have cared for a lot of dogs that developed health issues,” said Lori. “When we got to know Scenthound, we began to learn about how their services can prevent health conditions for dogs down the line. We thought about how many pet parents out there simply don’t know that routine care can keep your dog healthy, and we want to carry out the brand’s mission to educate dog owners in our area.”

Prior to joining Scenthound, Lori has been a stay-at-home mom for the last ten years, caring for their three children, ages 8, 11, and 13. The family has always had a strong love for dogs and she felt that opening a Scenthound would be a great way to get the whole family excited and passionate about the business. Ken, who has over 20 years of experience in sales, will be providing support to Lori as she spearheads business ownership.

“After getting to know the brand, we became cognizant of the fact that many dogs out there aren’t getting the care they need. Scenthound takes you step by step and explains to you how each service will help keep your dog healthy,” added Lori. “It’s exciting to be opening a business that you know is going to make a difference.”

Scenthound was founded in 2015 after CEO Tim Vogel spent more than 10 years running both a mobile grooming business and local grooming Scenters, and seeing first-hand the shortcomings within a booming pet industry and the lack of education surrounding dog grooming. Vogel began a mission to give dogs and their owners a fast, easy, and affordable grooming solution with Scenters that provide a haircut, but more importantly, focus on a dog’s health.

The brand believes its recent growth speaks to the strength of the pet industry. Despite the economic downturn, many Americans decided to adopt pets during the pandemic and clear out shelters across the country. People have continued to invest in their pets and have proven that the pet industry is not only “essential,” but recession-proof. The brand currently has four locations open in its home state of Florida, and 27 new units in development across three states. Six of these locations alone are set to open in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

As part of its Southeastern expansion plan, Scenthound is on track to sell 40 total units and open 20 by the end of the year. Scenthound is actively seeking single and multi-unit franchise partners who are passionate about dogs and are looking to be hands-on with the business.
