(PRESS RELEASE) BOZEMAN, MT — West Paw, who led the pet industry as the first Certified B Corporation known best for designing pet products for the love of both pets and the planet, recognizes the company’s 10th Anniversary as a Certified B Corporation with the launch of a new video, 10 Years as a force for good.

“We are thrilled to celebrate a decade of being a part of a global movement of businesses focused on an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy,” said Spencer Williams, West Paw CEO. “For 10 years, we’ve met high standards of social and environmental impact that create meaningful benefits in our communities.”

B Corp Certification represents a movement of companies working together to spread prosperity and create impact tangibly and measurably. West Paw is proud to be one of the over 6,000 companies making a commitment to transparent reporting, materiality issue management, human rights policies and more.

“We’re proud of our 10 years as a Certified B Corporation. Now we look to the next 100 years,” said Williams. “We hope that our story serves as a powerful catalyst that raises awareness of B Corps and ultimately inspires other businesses to participate and dedicate themselves to making a positive mark on the world.”

Founded in 1996, West Paw has been family owned and operated from Bozeman, Montana. The company has recycled almost 150,000 pounds of award-winning dog toys, spun over 16 million water bottles into dog beds and toy stuffing, and innovated a toy line, Seaflex, that reclaims ocean-bound plastic.

Beyond the B Corporation Certification, West Paw was a Founding Member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, interested in expanding positive impacts across the pet industry. And in 2021, West Paw proliferated their recycling program, Join the Loop, by offering free in-store recycling collection “centers” to their retailers.

“Our hope is that one day, all companies will be a force for good,” said Williams. “Being dogs’ best friend lies at the heart of our mission, but we care about the people and the planet around them, too. This is why we believe so deeply in being a Certified B Corporation.”
