BOZEMAN, MT — During this time of uncertainty and disruption of global health, U.S. pet product manufacturer West Paw is supporting its local community with much-needed face masks to protect the safety of healthcare workers.
Last week, West Paw worked to retool its Bozeman, MT, production facility, leveraging the skills of employees who normally would be making dog toys, beds, collars and leashes.
“As a purpose-driven certified B Corp, we live our values of community and employee support by unleashing the capability and skills of our staff to make an impact,” said Spencer Williams, president and CEO of West Paw. “As of this week a portion of our Bozeman, Montana factory has temporarily shifted gears to make masks for healthcare workers.”
The compay stated in a press release that it is “doing its part to help healthcare workers with this critical need, as well as creating a safe work environment to keep its employees working and earning a paycheck.” West Paw has also extended employees more paid time off to be home with their children during school closures and also during times when employees or others in their household are ill. Additionally, West Paw is leveraging its flex work schedules for production and office staff to ensure the health and promote social distancing.
For retailers, West Paw will continue to ship orders directly from its factory in Bozeman within one business day.
