100+ Golden Retrievers Walk in Honor of Boston Marathon Dog

Dozens of golden retrievers walked Sunday morning to honor one of their own.

The “Boston Marathon Golden Retriever Meetup” recognized Spencer, the official Boston Marathon dog, who recently passed away, NBC10 Boston News reports.

More than 100 dogs showed up with their owners. The 1-mile walk was held in advance of the Boston Marathon.

Spencer “became the official dog of the Boston Marathon after a video of him went viral in 2018,” according to NBC10. He died of cancer earlier this year.
