Amazon Expands Cashierless Concept to Suburbs

Amazon is extending its cashierless Just Walk Out tech to convenience stores targeted at a suburban audience, reports Forbes.

The first new store – branded Amazon Go – will open in Mill Creek, Wash., and will carry an assortment of food, snacks, beer, wine and “a few every day essentials.” A Los Angeles-metro-area location is planned in the next few months.

At 6,150 square feet, the footprint is twice as large as the traditional Amazon Go stores located in urban areas.
