APPA Announces New Board Members and Positions

(PRESS RELEASE) STAMFORD, CT — The American Pet Products Association (APPA), the leading trade association serving the interests of the pet products industry since 1958, announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors: Brett Johnson of Radio Systems Corp. and Todd Regan of Central Garden & Pet.

“Brett Johnson and Todd Regan bring a wide array of expertise to our association,” said Steve King, president and CEO of APPA. “With continued growth in the pet industry, their combined experience building high-quality brands will greatly benefit our board.”

Johnson brings extensive leadership experience overseeing the analytics and insights, market research, customer care and China market teams as director of customer experience at Radio Systems Corporation. Earlier in his career, he worked in the internet and technology industries in varying capacities for 20 years.

Regan has vast experience overseeing marketing for numerous pet brands during his tenure in the industry. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Central Garden & Pet. Prior to his years in the pet industry, he held brand management, marketing and sales roles at large corporations like Kraft Foods and Nissan Motor Corporation.

“APPA is the pet industry’s leading authority in the advancement of pet products and promoting responsible pet care, and I’m honored to be named as a member of the board of directors,” said Regan. “I’m eager to work with the team to continue the success of the pet industry’s premier event, the annual Global Pet Expo. It’s a privilege to work with my fellow directors and the APPA team to help build programs to strengthen the industry, increase responsible pet ownership and build awareness of the joys and benefits of pet ownership.”

APPA also announced two new board positions with Chuck Latham of H & C Animal Health now serving as the chairman of the board, and Tommy Baroody of Nestle Purina PetCare serving as secretary/treasurer.

“I am honored to serve as the new chairman of the board, and serve alongside fellow leaders of our industry,” said Chuck Latham of H & C Animal Health. “I look forward to working closely with the other board members to achieve the goals and objectives we’ve set forth to advance the pet products industry, and help our members prosper. I’d also like to thank Alice Tillett of Petmate/Doskocil Manufacturing Company, Inc., for her hard work on the board the past two years. She will remain with us to serve as the immediate past chair.”
