Beco Launches a Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Dog Waste Bag

(PRESS RELEASE) As part of its continued commitment to helping reduce the environmental impact of pets, Beco, the recently certified B Corp, has moved to making its unscented and mint-scented poop bags from 100% recycled materials. With the new recycled composition, they’re one of the first bags on the market specifically designed for park bins and general waste.

Based on Beco’s 2021 consumer study, it found that 96% of its customers dispose of their dog’s waste in park bins and general waste. And, after two years of research and development, it has now launched its answer to the stinky conundrum. Bags made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials.

Beyond giving waste another life, when Beco achieved carbon neutrality in 2022, its measurement found that recycled PE has a carbon footprint 86% lower than virgin plastic, and their further research found that recycled PE is 44% more energy efficient to manufacture.

As part of the launch, Beco has expanded its home compostable range to include new sizes, redesigned its 100% PCR dispenser and home compostable bamboo pet cleanup wipes. All of which will be featured at the Only An Ocean Global Pet Expo booth #4250.

Working to use business as a force for good, Beco is certified as carbon neutral, donates 1% of every sale to environmental causes, and is committed to reducing their impact. Only An Ocean is proud of Beco’s team and its on-going commitment to strive for sustainability.
