Earth Animal Calendar Proceeds Benefit Sanctuary

(PRESS RELEASE) Earth Animal has created a 2019 calendar whose proceeds will benefit an animal sanctuary named in honor of a girl killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

The calendar features winners of an online photo contest with pictures of pets posing with No-Hide Chew products. The calendar is priced at $19.99.

All proceeds will be donated to the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary in Newtown, CT.

A lover of all animals, 6-year-old Catherine always made it a point to show them extraordinary compassion. Whether she was gently cradling an insect in her palm, or squeezing a furry friend in a full-bodied hug. Catherine wanted them to know that they could trust her and that she would keep them safe from harm. She said that when she grew up, she was going to take care of the animals, even creating her own business cards for “Catherine’s Animal Shelter,” with the self-appointed title of “Care Taker.”

Tragically, Catherine’s life ended at Sandy Hook Elementary School – cutting short a young girl’s dream before it could become a reality.

The sanctuary is being created in honor of Catherine’s memory and her crusade of compassion. The mission of the animal sanctuary is to enrich the lives of all beings by promoting compassion and acceptance through Catherine’s passions: a wonder for the outdoors, a sense of discovery and caring for animals.

Earth Animal opened photo submissions up to the general public with an online photo contest that ran for three weeks and received over 400 online photo submissions. A team of judges at Earth Animal including Dr. Bob and Susan Goldstein selected the final three winners for the contest. First-place winner was “Quinn” from Connecticut who will receive a customized gift basket of Earth Animal products valued at $200. The second-place winner, Delhi is from Washington state. Learn more about Delhi on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p4lpo8GrlI. The final winner is Nauti the spunky cat from New York and lives with four German Shepherds who are always trying to steal her No-Hide Chews!

Earth Animal will be highlighting these winners and others who receive honorable mentions within the calendar, on its website, social media feeds and advertising campaigns in the upcoming months. The calendar will be available for purchase on the Earth Animal website at https://www.earthanimal.com/c/pet-health/education-books/ and at its retail store in Westport, CT as well as on the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary website www.cvhfoundation.org, at the animal sanctuary and various stores in Newtown, CT.
