Global Pet Expo Announces New Learning Series

STAMFORD, CT – Global Pet Expo show management announced details about the Global Learning Series, a free educational program that will be offered at Global Pet Expo 2021. Global Pet Expo, presented by American Pet Products Association and the Pet Industry Distributors Association, is set to take place March 24-26 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

The Global Learning Series incorporates learning events for all attendees including retailers, distributors and manufacturers on one of five pathways. These pathways include:

Retailer Success Series

Formerly known as the Global Pet Expo Academy, the Retailer Success Series features over 30 hours of learning presented by retail industry experts on a variety of topics. This includes Learning Series Workshops that will begin virtually pre-show (pre-registration required), continue with in-person sessions in Orlando, followed by continued learning post-show (The Retailer Success Series is presented by Pet Store Pro). Show Management is now accepting applications for prospective Retail Success Series speakers. Interested candidates must fill out the Speaking Engagement Request Form by the deadline of September 15, 2020.

Paws2Learn

These sessions take place in the New Products Showcase and feature short, on-the-go experiences such as Hot Topics, 15-minute Mini Sessions and Paws2Grow Wellness Breaks.

APPA Learning Experiences

Experiences include a retail tour, interest group meet ups, and other experiential activities taking place before, during and after the show.

Market Research Sessions

Open to all attendees, these sessions highlight the latest data in pet ownership, profitability and more.

Pathways will feature learning under specific knowledge areas, including leadership, customer experience, public relations and marketing, human resources, profitability and growth, and other hot topics.

“While the 2020 Global Pet Expo Academy was a huge success with more than 2,000 participants, the highest attendance in show history, we’re always looking for new ways to expand and enhance offerings at the show,” said PIDA President Celeste Powers. “The Global Learning Series encompasses the many educational opportunities available at Global Pet Expo and will serve all show attendees. There’s truly something for everyone in this program.”

APPA CEO Steve King said, “The Global Learning Series is an exciting evolution of Global Pet Expo’s educational offerings featuring relevant, trending topics and valuable events. In addition to retailer education, this new program brings APPA’s market research and learning experiences into the mix.”

King added, “We’re thrilled to have such a solid line up for all attendees, and more options and content than ever for manufacturers as well.”

Powers said, “This will be THE opportunity of the year to learn from many of pet retailing’s best-known authorities on a wide array of business building topics, as well as top-notch market research and a variety of experiential activities.” She said, “We’re proud to offer FREE access to these first-class educational programs.”

The full Global Learning Series lineup will be announced later this year. For more information about Global Pet Expo or the Global Learning Series, click here.
