(PRESS RELEASE) Groom South, now owned and operated by Chuck Simons of Groomers Helper, has a new date and location for 2019. This GroomTeam USA-sanctioned competition will be held at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ, on Nov. 18-19.
This introductory contest will have one division, open to all competitors. The four GroomTeam USA sanctioned classes, Hand Stripping, Spaniels & Setters, Poodles and Purebred Scissoring will adhere to GroomTeam USA Open division rules and will be eligible for point-earning opportunities.
Check-in for the competition is Nov. 17 at 4pm. Room rates at The Showboat in Atlantic City start at $65 per night.
Groom South will also offer Best in Show and Best All Around Groomer awards. Internationally renowned contest judge Christina Pawlosky will judge all classes.
Simons is pleased to have the opportunity to retain the GroomTeam USA sanctioned status of Groom South 2019 and looks at this show as a launching pad for his significantly larger event in 2020, Groom South Florida.
Groom South Florida, planned for May 2020, will cater to groomers from the USA, Canada, Central and South America and overseas. The culturally rich location for this South Florida event, as well as translations in English, Spanish and Portuguese, will assure participation from all corners of the Americas and abroad.
Simons is the inventor of the Groomers Helper Safety & Positioning System and owner of The Pet Salon in Margate, NJ, along with his wife, Beth, NCMG. Simons has won The Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry,” as well as The Barkleigh Honors Award for “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry,” along with multiple additional industry trade awards.
