Mid America Pet Food, Maker of VICTOR, Earns Sustainability Accreditation

(PRESS RELEASE) MOUNT PLEASANT, TX – Mid America Pet Food (MAPF), producer of VICTOR Super Premium Pet Food (VICTOR), has been recognized for its conservation and other positive-impact initiatives as an Accredited Business by the Pet Sustainability Coalition. This recognition acknowledges VICTOR and MAPF as sustainably led and measured businesses driving positive impact for pets, people and the planet.

This accreditation, the only one available in the pet industry to measure and verify sustainable business operations, was earned based on MAPF’s impressive performance when measured against UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, MAPF was recognized for its especially high scores for SDG 3, Good Health and Well-Being and SDG 6, Clean Water and Sanitation.

“Over the past year, we’ve increased our investment and focused on ways we can make a positive impact on the outdoor spaces we love and the people in our communities – I’m very proud of this recognition from the Pet Sustainability Coalition,” said Greg Cyr, CEO of Mid America Pet Food. “We look forward to continuing to improve as we aspire to take a leadership position in working to help protect the outdoors and foster a healthy and active life for the pets who are always by our side for generations to come.”

While this recognition is new for MAPF, doing good for people and the outdoors is engrained in the company, as VICTOR is known for supporting a love of outdoors and has been a supporter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. VICTOR is also a proud sponsor of This Able Veteran, a non-profit that works to provide PTSD service dogs to military veterans. MAPF is also known for its healthcare offering to its employees, as the company provides 100 percent employer-funded healthcare for all employees.

In addition to VICTOR, MAPF’s portfolio of brands also includes Nature’s Logic, Wayne Feeds and Eagle Mountain. Nature’s Logic earned this accreditation in 2020 under the leadership of David Yaskulka, now senior vice president of corporate social responsibility for MAPF. Yaskulka looks forward to continuing to help MAPF become a sustainability leader within the industry.

“This is a wonderful first step in our journey to elevate our corporate social responsibility,” said Yaskulka. “MAPF is helping lead the way in safeguarding the health and well-being of pets, and for the people who work hard every day to make their food. We are also thankful to the Pet Sustainability Coalition for this recognition, and for the tools that help us improve every day.”
