(PRESS RELEASE) COLUMBUS, OH – Mutts & Co., a pet supplies and services business with nine locations around the greater Columbus, Ohio area, is offering free dog or cat food to individuals impacted by the on-going government shutdown.
Furloughed government employees and SNAP recipients whose benefit have been impacted can receive one free small bag of dog or cat food per week during the government shutdown. They simply show their government ID or EBT card at a Mutts & Co. store.
“These are difficult times for a lot of pet parents,” says Deborah Vitt, founder and co-owner of Mutts & Co. “People should not be forced to choose between feeding themselves or their pets, so we want to alleviate some of the burden they are feeling during these tough times.”
Mutts & Co. partnered with Fromm Family Pet Food, FirstMate Pet Foods and Pets Global Inc. to provide the free product. This free food program will continue as long as the government is shut down.
“The pet advocate community has always pulled together to help those in need,” says Vitt. “Small acts of kindness and financial support can have a huge impact on the lives of dogs and cats in homes around Central Ohio.”
Mutts & Co. was founded in Dublin, Ohio in 2007 and employs over 70 people in Central Ohio. Mutts & Co. partners with local pet rescue and shelter organizations to help abused and abandoned animals by scheduling in-store adoption events and collecting donations for non-profit groups.
