(PRESS RELEASE) SÃO PAULO, BR — Natoo Pet Foods is advancing sustainability transparency in pet care by transforming company-level environmental commitments into verified product-level claims that support retailer confidence and informed purchasing decisions. As demand grows for measurable proof behind climate messaging, the brand has implemented a structured framework that enables clear communication of verified claims at shelf.
Translating sustainability investments into credible shelf-level claims has been complex. To address this, Natoo established four strategic priorities: quantifying product carbon footprints, securing third-party certification, improving packaging recyclability and offsetting plastic impact through certified recovery programs.
Working with sustainability verification consultant ClimatePartner, Natoo has measured product-level carbon footprints across select lines, enabling certification and supporting verified cookstove and international ocean plastic recovery initiatives. Packaging innovation is another focus: the Crunchy Biscuit line now uses recyclable mono-material packaging, and a TerraCycle take-back program allows Meal Topper pouches to be returned for specialized recycling.
Since 2022, manufacturing operations linked to the brand have reduced carbon emissions by roughly 26,000 tons. Natoo’s facility is LEED Gold-certified and 100% solar powered, and additional verified carbon credit initiatives continue to support emissions mitigation, while plastic introduced to the Brazilian market is offset through a certified recovery program.
Verified sustainability claims also deliver commercial value. Products displaying recognized environmental badges on digital marketplaces have shown increased shopper engagement and sales growth, helping retailers reduce risk and support responsible category expansion.
“Responsible growth requires a measurable foundation,” said Fernando Torres Maluf, VP of International Business. “By certifying our footprint and redesigning packaging, we built a scalable climate accountability model that shows sustainability and business performance can advance together.”
Natoo is encouraging other pet industry companies to move beyond high-level commitments by adopting measurable systems linked to verified product-level claims. The brand plans to expand certification across additional product lines, strengthen carbon data tracking, continue improving packaging efficiency and explore opportunities to scale plastic offset programs through new partnerships.
