Pet Food Express Amplifies Support for Animal Welfare in 2023 With Over $1.3M in Contributions

(PRESS RELEASE) CONCORD, CA – Pet Food Express, a trusted California pet retailer and advocate for animal welfare, alongside its dedicated customers, releases the incredible results from its 2023 community impact programs; the company extended over $1.3 million in financial support and facilitated the adoption of thousands of pets, from the smallest kittens to loving senior dogs. With a steadfast commitment to “pawlanthropy,” Pet Food Express continued to champion pet welfare with state-wide efforts, involving targeted financial contribution drives, support for rescue and foster programs, and the hosting of 4,042 adoption and non-adoption events across its 65 stores.

The flagship event of 2023, the Pet Food Express Pet Fair, marked a significant milestone with 8,443 animals finding their forever homes and raising over $221,000 for 145 shelter and rescue organizations. This multifaceted event brought together virtual and in-person adoption opportunities with local rescues and shelters, and included over 280 special events throughout California.

“Reflecting on 2023, we’re so proud of the impact we’ve made in the lives of thousands of pets and pet owners across California. It was made possible by our animal-loving customers and our devoted rescue and shelter partners,” said Denyelle Bruno, CEO, Pet Food Express. “We’re energized to continue this legacy of love in 2024 to ensure that animals in need and the people who care for them feel supported.”
