RAWZ Natural Pet Food Donates to Bahamas Humane Society

(PRESS RELEASE) NASSAU, BAHAMAS — On July 27, volunteers at the Bahamas Humane Society filled their empty food storage space with over 69,000 cans of pet food. Being heavily reliant on tourism, the citizens of the Bahamas have been hit especially hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Able to comfortably house 300 animals, the no-kill Humane Society found themselves caring for over 600 animals housed at the shelter and with foster families. In addition, the Humane Society was providing care packages to families that found themselves unemployed and struggling to feed their pets. With so many being out of work, as owner surrenders increased, the donations the Human Society relies on to feed the dogs and cats in their care decreased. By early June, the Humane Society found themselves without food for the over 600 animals in their care.

Through a mutual contact, the Bahamas Humane Society reached out for help and The Scott Family, owners of RAWZ Natural Pet Food were glad to answer the call. Over 2900 cases of canned pet food was loaded onto pallets and shipped down to Miami, Florida, where the Humane Society was able to facilitate transportation to the shelter in Nassau, Bahamas.

This donation, valued at over $170,000, consists of 2900 cases of pet food (69,600 individual cans) and will help feed the shelter animals for at least two months.
