Rescued Duck Gets Custom Walkin’ Wheels Wheelchair

(PRESS RELEASE) AMHERST, NH – Walkin’ Pets, the makers of the Walkin’ Wheels adjustable wheelchair, Lift-n-Step Harness, Walkin’ Pet Splints and other products for disabled and injured animals will be exhibiting at this year’s Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida. Walkin’ Pets will be exhibiting its Walkin’ Pets products as well as introducing some newly designed veterinary inspired products at booth #3845.

Recently, Walkin’ Pets paid a visit to the Goats of Anarchy sanctuary in New Jersey to gift some their goats with the tools they need to be active and happy. Not to mention the first Duck Walkin’ Wheels wheelchair for one truly lucky duck.

Merlin the duck was left mobility challenged due to a leg deformity. The staff at Walkin’ Pets by HandicappedPets.com saw Merlin’s story and were inspired to help. Working together to create the first ever Walkin’ Wheels Duck Wheelchair, a custom-built cart to help him get Merlin the exercise he needs. Excited to see Merlin’s first steps, the Walkin’ Pets team made the trip from New Hampshire to New Jersey to deliver his new wheelchair. And we’re happy to say, Merlin took to his brand new Walkin’ Wheels like a duck to water. Walkin’ Pets will continue to partner with Goats of Anarchy to develop the perfect wheelchair for Merlin and for future ducks alike.

Merlin’s story has garnered a lot of attention, including that of his original rescuer Rebecca Hurst. Even though Rebecca knew the volunteers at Goats of Anarchy would provide the best care for Merlin, she still worried whether her decision was the right one. Rebecca never stopped thinking about her duck, Merlin. After seeing his story online, she was thrilled to see him again and amazed that he’s walking on his own with the help of his new wheelchair. Rebecca now knows that she absolutely made the right decision to bring him to the Goats of Anarchy, and she’s excited that Merlin is making a difference in other duck’s lives.
