Scenthound’s Clean Dog Revolution Headed for Miami

(PRESS RELEASE) JUPITER, FL – As the pet industry continues experiencing explosive growth, Scenthound, a Jupiter-based franchise shaking up the $75 billion professional pet industry, has signed a development deal to bring five new locations to Miami.

With four locations open and six additional units in development throughout Palm Beach County, the membership-based grooming concept now has 11 new locations on the way, less than a year after announcing its franchise opportunity.

The five Miami locations will be owned and operated by Mariano Espinosa, who brings over 2 decades of business experience to Scenthound. Espinosa grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, before moving to the United States in 1996 to pursue an MBA and start a career in corporate finance. He spent over 20 years at PepsiCo, where he worked in the US and in multiple countries around the world. His last role was Chief Financial Officer of a $1.3b Foods business in Brazil where he spearheaded all financials aspects of the business. After many years in the corporate world, Mariano decided that it was time to do something different.

“After many years in finance, I felt the need to do something new and exciting. After doing a lot of research and soul searching, I chose Scenthound because I knew that if I was meant to open my own business, it had to be something fueled by my life-long passion for dogs,” said Mariano. “A dog’s unconditional love is difficult to match in the two-legged world; Scenthound is a business that runs on love.”

Scenthound was founded in 2015 after CEO Tim Vogel spent more than 10 years running both a mobile grooming business and local grooming “scenters”, and seeing first-hand the shortcomings within a booming pet industry and the lack of education surrounding dog grooming. Vogel began a mission to give dogs and their owners a fast, easy, and affordable grooming solution with scenters that provide a haircut, but more importantly, focus on a dog’s health.

Embedded in the name, Scenthound focuses on the five core areas of maintenance: Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails and Teeth. Their Scent Techs are fully trained to give your dog the care that their breed requires – not just a haircut, and the membership program allows for dog owners to have the peace of mind that their furry friends are cared for on a routine basis.

“I can’t wait to introduce this concept to Miami and help keep our local dogs healthy and more connected to their families,” added Mariano. “A healthy, happy dog equates to a healthy, happy human. There is no other groomer that takes care of dogs the way Scenthound does.”

As part of its Southeastern expansion plan, Scenthound aims to sell 40 total units and open 20 by the end of the year. Scenthound is actively seeking single and multi-unit franchise partners who are passionate about dogs and are looking to be hands-on with the business.

Including a franchise fee of $50,000, the initial investment for a Scenthound location ranges between $206,400 to $378,400.
