Therapy Pets Are a Popular New Perk at These Companies

They help workers feel less stressed and more productive.

When you’re stressed at work, there’s nothing like cuddles from a friendly pooch to take the edge off.

That’s what companies like Aetna, Intel and Google are finding as they roll out therapy-pet programs for their employees, MarketWatch reports.

The non-profit Pet Partners has been bringing animals to workplaces for two years. It’s worked with 20 companies so far, with employees spending up to two hours with the pets.

Annie Peters, CEO of Pet Partners, told MarketWatch, “Many employees claim this is their favorite benefit offered by employers, that they go back to their desks feeling more relaxed, less stressed and more productive.” 

Pet Partners offers not only dogs but also several other animals, including cats and even llamas.
