(PRESS RELEASE) KANSAS CITY, MO — Three Dog Bakery announced the results of its 2022 one-day Veterans Day fundraiser in support of Friends in Service of Heroes (F.I.S.H.): $25,641, which will be used to provide veterans in need with a service dog to improve their quality of life. This amount exceeds last year’s donation of $16,428.
On December 1st, in a joyful and emotional ceremony at Three Dog Bakery’s Country Club Plaza location in Kansas City, the check was presented to F.I.S.H. President, Paul Chapa. At the same ceremony, former marine and retired Army 1st Class Sergeant, Mark Miller, was awarded service dog Gary Lee, named after police officers and Army veterans killed in the line of duty. Donations like these make a huge difference in the lives of our nation’s heroes that risked their lives for our freedom.
“These service dogs, for many of our veterans, are the best medicine they can have. After only a few short weeks, we hear stories about sleeping all night and reduced anxiety.
They are life changers and life savers,” said Paul Chapa, F.I.S.H. founder and president.
Three Dog Bakery began their Veterans Day fundraiser in 2014, donating 15% of Three Dog Bakery product sales to F.I.S.H. annually. Since 2014, the company has donated over $100,000 to F.I.S.H. “This wonderful organization has gone above and beyond to improve the lives of veterans by providing them with service dogs. These dogs are trained for physical disabilities, PTSD, emotional support and more.
