(Press Release) International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA), the professional business association serving the pet care services industry, announced that its Fifth Annual Pet Care Services Educational Conference & Trade Show, originally scheduled at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Oct. 3-5, along with pre-conference events taking place Oct. 1-2, has been moved to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort due to Hurricane Irma’s impact on the Hyatt. The new location is just 29 miles from the Jacksonville airport and the dates remain the same. The annual conference attracts the owners, managers and key employees of pet boarding and daycare facilities, pet sitters, veterinarians, groomers, trainers and more working in the pet care services industry.
“This week, after believing it would be possible and with all of us moving ahead, the Hyatt was given unexpected word that they will not be able to be open for our conference after being seriously impacted by Hurricane Irma,” said Carmen Rustenbeck, IBPSA’s CEO and founder. “So, with help from the amazing Hyatt team, in the midst of their own incredibly trying circumstances, and some swift IBPSA negotiating, we are hugely relieved and excited to announce our new location for both conference and pre-conference events at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort.”
The Fifth Annual IBPSA Pet Care Services Educational Conference & Trade Show brings together a line-up of new faces and seasoned pros all bringing fresh ideas and smart insight to educate and inspire pet care professionals. Session tracks include: Financial, Avoiding Burnout, Operations, Pet Care, Customer Relations, Marketing, and Facility Design. The conference will be accompanied by an industry trade show and immediately preceded by pre-conference events for more intensive learning: Pricing For Profit, a financial workshop tailored to maximizing profits for pet care facilities; Pet First Aid & CPR, a hands-on educational course that provides valuable first aid skills for dogs and cats; and Infectious Disease Management Certification Program, a 2-hour seminar that will address keeping pet care facilities free from infectious disease such as dog flu.
