Zuke’s Introduces Ascent Natural Dog Food

(Press Release) Durango, CO – To live a life filled with adventure, our dogs need a special kind of food to help keep them going. That’s why Zuke’s, a leading provider of natural pet treats, set out to create a new line of dog food with a heightened approach to nutrition. Sourcing only the best natural ingredients and balancing those nutrients so they work together for peak absorption, Zuke’s Ascent Natural Dog Food is made with real meats and Nature-Loc vegetables and fruits to provide Elevated Nutrition As Nature Intended.

Available in two forms, Grain-Free Crunchy Blend and Adventure Tender Blend, each variety is completely free of grains, wheat, corn, soy, artificial preservatives, colors and flavors. The Crunchy Blend is available in Chicken & Lentil Recipe, Lamb & Pea Recipe, and Pollock & Chickpea Recipe, while the Adventure Tender Blend is available in Duck & Chickpea Recipe, Wild Boar & Pea Recipe, and Trout & Sweet Potato Recipe. Both feature a combination of high-protein meat, fish or poultry, along with vegetables and fruits like carrots, peas, cranberries, blueberries, cherries and mangoes. Unless there is a better source that meets the company’s strong quality standards, such as lamb from New Zealand, the ingredients are sourced from the U.S.

Zuke’s team of expert product developers and a board-certified nutritionist worked together for well over a year to land on the optimum ingredient levels and nutrient balance that every dog’s active body needs, and each formulation went through nutritional, digestibility and palatability testing. To ensure the food’s nutrients aren’t lost through processing, Zuke’s takes the following extra steps:

  • Nature-Loc Technology: This process quick-dries the product’s vegetables and fruits through vacuum-pressurization at a low temperature to lock-in nature’s goodness and deliver more nutrition per pound in a way that dehydration and freeze-drying just can’t do.
  • Probiotic Protection: Zuke’s uses a proprietary technique to protect the probiotics that are added to Zuke’s Ascent Grain-Free Crunchy Blend and help ensure they stay alive until they reach the digestive system.
  • Small Batch Cooking: The Ascent Adventure Tender Blend is steam cooked in small batches (<= 500 lbs.) in less than 10 minutes at 200 degrees with ingredients measured by hand to preserve nutrients and ensure total quality every time.

“At Zuke’s, we’re extremely passionate about exploring all that life has to offer with our dogs. That’s why producing a food designed to offer wholesome nutrition to fuel those adventures was such a priority for us,” shared Zuke’s Director of Operations David Rizzo. “From our quality ingredient choices to the processes we’ve put in place to preserve their natural nutrients, we feel proud to feed Zuke’s Ascent Natural Dog Food to our furry family members and are excited for others to do the same.”

The new lineup is currently rolling out in independent pet stores across the country. Zuke’s Ascent Grain-Free Crunchy Blend is available in 3lb, 11lb and 21lb sizes, and the Adventure Tender Blend is available in 3lb and 6lb sizes. A Press-Lok seal on the packaging ensures the food stays stable throughout its shelf life. Visit www.zukes.com for more information.
