(PRESS RELEASE) WILMINGTON, NC – Australia’s Tru Blu K9000, the original and world leading do-it-yourself dog wash manufacturer, is exhibiting at the annual SuperZoo pet retail show in Las Vegas and will offer special pricing to celebrate the company’s new North American headquarters. Having invented the category of the self-service dog wash, Tru Blu K9000 is an established leader internationally with some 1400 stations installed. The company opened its US headquarters in Wilmington, NC, in early 2018, to better serve North America’s growing pet industry. The SuperZoo show runs from June 26 – 28; Tru Blu K9000 is in booth #420.

“All the K9000 stations sold since our founding 13 years ago remain in service today,” said Mr. Baron. That record is a testament to the company’s market-leading quality construction, low maintenance and reliable service. Even so, all units sold carry a two-year warranty on every component and a 10-year structural frame warranty.

K9000s Create New Revenue Stream for Pet Businesses

K9000s build traffic and new revenue for pet stores, groomers, kennels, doggie daycare businesses and veterinary practices. The ten-minute dog washing cycle is an added service that contributes to the customer experience, creating repeat customers, drawing new customers and improving word of mouth referrals, according to K9000 owners.  With its sturdy stainless steel construction and high security features, businesses can place the K9000 indoors or outdoors. The K9000 is designed to function flawlessly and unattended, indoors during normal business hours, or outdoors for a 24-hour revenue stream that can extend customer service and attract new customers well beyond typical hours of operation.

At a minimum of two washes per day, the K9000 turns a profit; at fewer than 12 washes per week, the K9000 is breaking even. “When one does the math, and considers our reputation and reliability, it’s easy to see the profit potential the K9000 offers,” says Mr. Baron.

Alex Pittman, owner of Mikiz Pitt Stop in Vancouver, British Columbia, agrees, saying, “We have recently purchased, received and installed our new Tru Blu K9000 Dog Wash. We are very impressed with how quick and easy it was to purchase and install the unit.  We couldn’t be happier with the K9000, how well it works and how quick and easy it is to wash dogs. Our customers love how easily it cleans, conditions and dries their dogs in ten minutes or less.”

Pets Are a Growing US Business

The Tru Blu K9000 is already sold out through June with orders now being taken for July delivery. That demand reflects the growing pet industry in America; studies show some 78 million dogs are domesticated in the US, with 44 percent of American households having at least one dog. But pet owners are busier and have less space at home to bathe their dogs. The K9000 DIY dog-washing stations are meeting that need; K9000 machines washed more than 2 million dogs worldwide in 2016.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
