(PRESS RELEASE) ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Chesapeake Bay Dog Company, makers of BAYDOG, kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by donating $5,500 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. “This is an annual tradition that we started several years ago.” explained company founder Barton O’Brien. “And it has evolved into a contest that incentivizes our retail partners to join us in the fight against breast cancer.”
The promotion BAYDOG runs has a unique format, and actually starts in September. “We offer 10% off all of our pink products during the month of September,” explained Sales Director Kristy Webb. “That way our retail partners have a chance to stock up on pink products in advance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which starts October 1st. We then kick off the month by donating all profits from the sale to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This year our gift was over $5,000.”
The BAYDOG Pink Promotion doesn’t end there. They encourage their retail partners to follow their lead and donate the profits from the sale of pink items during the month of October. “It’s amazing to see so many of our stores join us in this cause,” said O’Brien. “And this year, we added a twist. The store that donates the most at the end of October will get an additional 10% off all BAYDOG orders for a full year.”
The annual Pink promotion is only one of BAYDOG’s charitable initiatives. “We also support several local dog rescue organizations, as well as charities like K9’s for Warriors and Save-A-Vet.org,” continued O’Brien. “As a 100% veteran-owned business, we chose charities that help both veterans and dogs. Giving back is a big part of our mission at BAYDOG.”
