Record pet ownership, shutdowns, increased health and safety precautions, and a demand boom have forced Coastal Pet to evaluate how to do business, stay on its toes and find creative solutions.
While Coastal Pet acknowledges that 2020 took them far from its usual fill rate and shipping standards, it look forward to being back on track in 2021.
Coastal Pet is a brand with bench strength. From collars and leashes to toys, Coastal Pet understands what consumers want and need for consumer’s pets. In 2021 they are focusing not only on sustained growth, but key initiatives that defend its brand position in the market. All of this has been done with careful consideration for maintaining its unparalleled quality standards.
It is that standard of quality that has allowed Coastal Pet to label all its products “Quality Guaranteed”. That’s its promise to its customers and consumers that Coastal Pet’s brands and products stand up to the wear and tear of expected use. Unfortunately, that promise is being jeopardized as imitators and fake product enter the marketplace.
In order to protect its brand integrity and help ensure the safety of the pets they love; Coastal Pet Products will be instituting an Authorized Seller Program effective January 15, 2021. Only authorized sellers will henceforth be permitted to sell Coastal Pet products.
All existing Coastal Pet customers are considered Authorized Sellers or Resellers, in the case of distribution partners. While this is a policy, rather than a signed contract, it does state that Authorized Sellers must adhere to the stated channel controls.

Retailers may continue to sell at physical locations or on its proprietary website. Please note, this policy prohibits sales on internet marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, or Walmart.com without express written consent from Coastal Pet Products Inc. At this time Coastal will not be authorizing additional partners for marketplace sales.
This policy does not replace the broader Coastal Pet EMAP policy, which remains enforced. Again, this Authorized Seller Program has been designed to keep unauthorized sellers from eroding the integrity and position of the Coastal brand across channels, ensuring Quality Guaranteed products consumers trust for the pets they love.
