(PRESS RELEASE) GRAAFF-REINET, EASTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA — Monic Group, the holding company of Montego Pet Nutrition, finalized its acquisition of Marltons Pet Care, bringing together two of the country’s most established pet care businesses in a move that strengthens local competition against multinational players.
Taking effect at the end of January 2026, the deal sees Marltons, a fixture in South African pet care since 1945, join Montego Pet Nutrition in the Monic Group portfolio. The acquisition pairs Montego’s pet nutrition expertise with Marltons’ long-standing commitment to everyday pet care, pooling over a century of combined expertise in serving pet owners both locally and abroad.

The two businesses are not new to one another. Montego has served as a key supplier to Marltons since 2018, establishing a commercial relationship that now deepens significantly.
