Pet Food Maker Plans $30M Expansion

Stella & Chewy’s LLC is planning a $30 million expansion of its headquarters and manufacturing plant in Oak Creek, WI.

Over a three-year period, the project is expected to create 82 jobs, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Stella & Chewy’s currently employs about 200 people.

The expansion will include leasing a new building, as well as the purchase of new machinery and equipment.

The company’s products are made with grass-fed beef, cage-free poultry and wild-caught fish along with organic fruits and vegetables. They’re sold at more than 6,000 neighborhood pet stores in the U.S. and Canada.

Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is supporting the project by authorizing up to $500,000 in state income tax credits over the next three years.
