(PRESS RELEASE) BELLEVUE, WA – Pet Partners has been awarded a $10,000 grant investment from the Petco Foundation to support its Therapy Animal Program. This grant was made possible through the Petco Foundation’s annual Helping Heroes fundraising campaign. Each October during the campaign, Petco customers are invited to donate online and in Petco stores across the country to support the life-changing work of service, therapy, and working animals.
“We are honored to have Petco Foundation’s continued support for our Therapy Animal Program,” said Annie Peters, president of Pet Partners. “This generous grant will allow us to support more regional teams in underserved areas and assist in connecting more therapy animals with those in need of their comfort.”
Pet Partners registered therapy animal teams assist in their communities in a wide range of settings, making regular visits to hospitals, schools, businesses, and more. In addition to their regular visits, teams also conduct visits in special circumstances. For example, they visit with college students during finals and midterms, and spend time with those affected by mass shootings or natural disasters.
