Registration has opened for SuperZoo 2022, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas Aug. 23-25, with education sessions beginning Aug. 22.

“Last year, SuperZoo was just what the pet community needed to reconnect, learn and get business done, and we can’t wait to do it again this year,” Vic Mason, president of the World Pet Association, producer of the event, said in a press release.

“Our 2022 event is, once again, the can’t-miss industry event packed with an unparalleled marketplace of debut products, expert-led education, and most importantly, a place to reconvene with like-minded industry professionals.”

More from the release:

For more than 70 years, SuperZoo has held the reputation as the industry’s most productive and vibrant trade show. This year’s event will deliver an easy-to-shop show floor with the most comprehensive collection of upcoming products and technology, in a fun-filled atmosphere for pet professionals to connect with their community. This year’s featured exhibitors include Blue Buffalo Co., Nestlé Purina Petcare Company, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Elanco Animal Health, Zoo Med Labs, Multipet International, Inc., Royal Canin, Diamond Pet Foods, Fetch!…For Pets! And Wellpet.

All attendees will have access to the New Product Showcase, featuring more than 800 new industry products before they hit shelves, the hottest startups in Emerging Brands and live demos right on the show floor in five dedicated areas.

Natural and Health: The latest in-demand pet supplements and preventative health products to support animals’ well-being.

Specialty and Lifestyle: The fanciest address in town, featuring stylish accessories for the well-dressed pet.

Farm and Feed: A comprehensive range of supplies for everyone from the commercial rancher to the urban farmer.

Aquatics, Reptiles, Birds and Small Animals: For the small but mighty—products designed for the care of aquatic animals, birds, reptiles and other small pets.

Groomer’s Marketplace: Scissors, styling products and more to stay a cut above.

“For a single store retailer like myself, SuperZoo is where we’re able to get samples and trial sizes. We can talk to the manufacturers and do in-depth research to find out about sourceability, manufacturing, third-party testing—which are really important to a store like mine. My customers look to me for that kind of information, and this is where I can get it on a one-on-one basis to have those kinds of discussion,” said Patricia Zeller, Animal Connection, 2021 attendee.

To entice the grooming community, more than $34,000 will be up for grabs during SuperZoo’s renowned grooming contests. Groomers will also have access to education sessions that will help them prepare for the Professional Grooming Credential (PGC) exam. With WPA’s PGC program, pet groomers across the United States now have a standardized, independent exam process to assess their practices and showcase the wide knowledge base of the working professional groomer.

SuperZoo provides the industry’s most robust professional learning curriculum, featuring expert-led retail and animal-wellness sessions guaranteed to help strengthen pet retailers’ business strategies through more than 65 sessions in three tracks. Attendees will be able to learn how to motivate today’s employees, generate sales on social media, leverage SEO and Google and more.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
