West Paw’s customers have long used our treat toys to house colorful culinary creations for their canine. And each week, we stare at our Instagram page in awe of their artwork — especially their use of local, fresh and exotic!! ingredients.

These savory and sweet concoctions come from kitchens around the world and have inspired our friends on social media to ask “How do they do that?” “What on earth is that?” and “How do I do that?”

To help satiate their appetites for knowledge, we compiled The Toy of Cooking, a recipe book featuring some of our favorite chef’s original recipes for dogs — with the hopes of inspiring future foodies. This labor of love is an ode to everyone who has shared their joy of cooking and inspired us to have more fun when we feed our dogs!

Be sure to feast your eyes on our Instagram page for more works of art. And should you be inclined, take a stab at creating one of these recipes in your favorite West Paw treat toysnap a photo, and post it using the hashtag #ToyofCooking. Retails who want copies of The Toy of Cooking for themselves and their customers can request them when placing an order.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
