American Pet Products Association Announces Pair of Staff Promotions

GREENWICH, CT – American Pet Products Association Executive Vice President and COO Andrew Darmohraj announced two staff promotions.

Jennifer Skelley, who previously served as associate director of communications and public relations, has been promoted to director of communications and public relations. Skelley has been with APPA for more than 12 years and oversees all communications efforts including public relations, social media and website content for the Association, APPA’s Pets Add Life (PAL) campaign and Global Pet Expo. Skelley plays an integral role in developing and implementing association-wide marketing communications plans that serve to promote and advance APPA, its members and the pet industry. She is a founding member and serves on the steering committee of APPA’s Professional Women’s Network and was named among the 2015 Pet Age Forty Under 40. Skelley is also a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and American Marketing Association (AMA) and is a graduate of Boston College, where she earned a dual degree in communications and sociology.

Annie Rotberg has been promoted from associate director of attendee services to director of attendee services. In her new role, Rotberg will continue to oversee all aspects of managing buyer qualification, registration and growing quality buyer attendance for Global Pet Expo. Since 2006, her high standards and impeccable work ethic have played an important role in ensuring that attendees at the Show meet the specific requirements to qualify to attend. Her efforts to build and maintain alliances with industry partners, as well as assist with promotional outreach, have contributed to the steady increase of domestic and international buyer attendance at Global Pet Expo.

She has also been integrally involved with Pet Business Magazine to create and implement the Retailer Excellence Awards program that honors outstanding independent pet stores in a variety of categories. Rotberg is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE).

“On behalf of the APPA Board and staff, I’m very proud to announce the promotions of Jenn and Annie. For more than a decade, they’ve both contributed significantly to the Association, Global Pet Expo and the pet industry,” said Darmohraj. “They are integral to the success of our team and we look forward to their continued leadership.”
