(PRESS RELEASE) LISBON, OHIO – Ohio-based Blackwood and Adirondack Pet Foods will introduce an expanded product line of dog and horse treats, alongside new pet food offerings at this year’s Global Pet Expo, March 21-23 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center.

Adirondack Pet Foods will offer a sneak peek of its new grain-free formulations during the Global Pet Expo. Pet parents are looking for formulations that are grain-free and chicken-free with fresh meat as the number one ingredient. The new Adirondack recipes address consumer demands and also includes coconut oil to improve digestion and also help promote healthy skin and coat for pets.

“The refresh of our Adirondack line is one of several initiatives we have planned for 2018. It’s an important year for us at BrightPet,” said Matthew Golladay, president of BrightPet Nutrition Group, Blackwood’s and Adirondack’s parent company. “Forty years ago, my father and grandfather started Ohio Pet Foods which has grown into our current company of pet food brands and manufacturing facilities. Everyone here at BrightPet has worked hard for decades to bring the best quality food to owners with unique, scientific formulas to ensure healthy and energetic pets.”

Additions to Adirondack Pet Foods

Adirondack has increased its pet treat products to include Applezz N’ Oats, premium, slow- cooked treats for horses. The Applezz N’ Oats name is well known and regarded by horse owners around the country who will notice that the previously clover-shaped treats are now hearts.

“After hearing from consumers, we decided to make our Applezz N’ Oats treats smaller,” said Golladay. “It’s the same recipe that horses have come to love and are now easier to eat.”

Applezz N’ Oats are made in the United States and contain all-natural ingredients with no artificial colors, flavors, binders, wheat or soy. The horse treats are available in a 1.5-pound resealable bag, three-pound resealable plastic canister and a seven-pound resealable bucket.

The horse treats join two Adirondack dog treat offerings: Chicken, Sweet Potato & Pumpkin and Chicken, Salmon & Mixed Berries.

Blackwood’s Complete Portfolio

Three new grain-free dog treats by Blackwood Pet Foods round out the brand’s portfolio of offerings that include super-premium dry and canned wet food for both dogs and cats. The different recipes (Chicken, Blueberry & Pumpkin, Catfish, Chickpea & Kale and Duck, Chickpea & Kale) feature coconut oil to improve digestion and naturally keep a dog’s skin and coat healthy. The treats are sold in four-ounce, resealable bags.

“We have a lot to talk about at this year’s show,” said Golladay. “Not only are we growing our business year-over-year with new distributors and retail availability, we’re truly focused on perfecting our product line by making sure we’re adding items our customers want, while preserving our slow-cooked promise. We are very proud of our history within the industry, but more so with the trust of the owners who feed our products to their loved ones.”

Both Adirondack and Blackwood Pet Foods will exhibit at Booth No. 791.
