Gold Paw Series Pledges to Plant 1 Million Trees

(PRESS RELEASE) GRESHAM, OR — In an effort to increase their charitable giving, Gold Paw Series has teamed up with 1% for the Planet, a global movement that connects businesses, individuals and nonprofits, empowering all to drive a big, positive change.

The organization asks companies to donate 1 percent of its annual sales to the environment. The idea behind it is simple: because companies profit from the resources they take from the earth, they should protect those resources. Today, 1% for the Planet has more than 1,800 members, in more than 45 countries, coming together to protect the future of the planet.

“Gold Paw Series is firmly committed to finding new ways to reduce the impact of our products on the environment and to help protect our planet,” comments Rebecca Gadd, CEO of Gold Paw Series. “For our second year as 1% for the Planet members, we chose to partner with the amazing Eden Reforestation Project. Since 2004, they have been reducing extreme poverty and restoring healthy forests by employing local villagers to plant millions of trees every year. Here at GoldPaw, we are setting a goal of planting one million trees by January 2022. We’ve planted 176,500 trees with our partnership so far!”

Gold Paw Series is known for its passion for creating simple, perfect comfort and beautiful textiles. Its goal is to tick every box: — sizing for every dog, pricing that is affordable, supply chains that support people, styles that excite consumers’ hearts and eyes, and serious efforts to protect the planet. Nearly 80 percent of the materials it uses are bluesign certified, meaning the mills are assisted in achieving continuous long-term improvements in five key areas of the production process: resourced productivity, consumer safety, water emissions, air emissions and occupational health and safety. GoldPaw has even upgraded its packaging. Using a new technology, the materials are 100 percent plant based and derived from cassava root, making them certifiably marine biodegradable.
