Who: Hosted by the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), and sponsored by IDEXX, the third in a planned series of virtual human-animal bond lectures will feature an in-depth conversation about the health and developmental benefits of companion animals for young children. The lecture features:
Hayley Christian, BSc, PhD, Principal Research Fellow at the Telethon Kids Institute, National Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellow, and Associate Professor at The University of Western Australia, discussing her ongoing study, The Health and Developmental Benefits of Companion Animals for Young Children: Advancing the Evidence Base, which evaluates the impact of a companion animal in families of young children on the physical and emotional health of the child. Most recently, results from Objective 1 of Dr. Christian’s study were published in the journal Pediatric Research in July 2020.
What: The IDEXX Human-Animal Bond Lecture Series highlights pivotal research on the health benefits of the human-animal bond and the importance of veterinary medicine in strengthening human-animal bonds. Registration is free. Animal health professionals who watch the live broadcast on March 18th will be eligible for one hour of RACE-Approved CE credit.
