Jiminy’s to Showcase Insect Protein Dog Food and Treats at SuperZoo 2021

(PRESS RELEASE) BERKELEY, CA – Jiminy’s, the leading producer of insect protein dog food products, showcases its two-alternative protein-based foods and new training treat at this year’s SuperZoo conference, the largest in-person pet industry event in the nation taking place in Las Vegas, NV.

“Pet ownership’s carbon pawprint is massive, with over 89 million dogs in the US consuming over 32 billion pounds of protein each year. Jiminy’s use of insect-based protein powders challenges pet owners to rethink their dogs’ diet and make a healthy choice for pets and the planet”, says CEO and founder Anne Carlson. “Each dog that switches from a traditional protein to cricket protein can save over 480,000 gallons of water per year. Jiminy’s is proud to be long-term leaders of health and nourishment for dogs.”

Jiminy’s will be showcasing two insect protein food recipes. Named ‘Good Grub’ and ‘Cricket Crave’, these sustainable and humane food flavors are oven-baked in the USA in small batches and proven to be digestible and nutrient-dense. Plus, they’re super tasty to dogs. The new food recipes are suitable for all life stages and are soft-baked, highly digestible, and hypoallergenic. The Cricket Crave flavor includes cricket protein powder, oats, quinoa, sweet potato, and other plant-based ingredients. The Good Grub flavor is made of insect protein powder, sweet potato, quinoa, oats, pumpkin, and other plant-based ingredients.

In addition, Jiminy’s will be displaying the brand’s first-ever grub protein training treat, which is a great alternative protein source that is both humane and sustainable. The Peanut Butter and Cranberry good grub protein treats have just three calories a treat and are designed as a training reward or an appropriately sized treat for small dogs.

Insect proteins are truly a superfood and are scientifically proven to be digestible by dogs. Both cricket and insect proteins (without additives) meet or exceed AAFCO requirements for dogs and are rich in amino acids, protein, iron, and vitamins. Best of all, these alternative proteins use drastically fewer resources as compared to traditional protein sources like meat and poultry, making them completely sustainable, humane, and healthy for dogs.

Jiminy’s assortment of sustainable dog foods and treats are available in many independent pet food retailers across the country and are available for purchase on Amazon, Chewy, and Jiminys.com. Most recently, the brand has expanded its retail footprint to Petco stores and online.

Jiminy’s will be attending SuperZoo in Las Vegas, NV from August 17-19. Representatives from Jiminy’s and will be on-site and available for questions and media interviews. You can find them in the Natures Pathway section at booth 1252.
