Matrix Partners Wins Awards for Charlee Bear Site, Packaging

(PRESS RELEASE) Matrix Partners, a full service pet-centric marketing, communications and design firm based in Chicago, has been honored with a Hermes Creative award. The awards program, which is an international competition, is geared toward creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies. Entries are judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, a third-party evaluator of creative work that has judged over 200,000 entries since its formation in 1994.

The creative department at Matrix Partners was recognized in the category of Website Design. Their work on behalf of dog treat manufacturer Charlee Bear’s new website earned them a coveted Gold Award. The Charlee Bear website emulates the rebranding and beautiful new package designs that recently debuted. With improved navigation and functionality, it features access to detailed product information and provides a seamless user experience. Also highlighted on the site is the company’s dedication to animal shelters and service dogs.

“We are so incredibly proud of our senior graphic designer, Natalie Murawski, and all the hard work she put into ensuring that the site reflects the excitement and new branding style of Charlee Bear,” says Kristy Boulos, vice president, account supervisor of Matrix Partners. “We’re confident this website will appeal to Charlee Bear’s current customers, while also attracting a new audience.”

In addition to winning a Gold Hermes Award, Matrix Partners received an honorable mention in the category of Packaging Design for the new packaging they created for Charlee Bear. The latest designs provide cohesion between the Charlee Bear Original Crunch and Grain Free Crunch dog treat lines. They also feature a window on the outside of the bags, allowing customers to see the treats inside. Charlee Bear’s tagline, “Beary tasty treats!” is displayed prominently on the packaging, along with other key product information, such as “Made in the USA,” “Less than 3 calories per treat” and the individual treat flavors.

This wasn’t the first time Charlee Bear’s new packaging earned recognition, as the Matrix team recently received a 2019 Graphic Design USA award in the American Package Design Awards competition.
