(PRESS RELEASE) CHICAGO, IL – Mount Ara, manufacturer of multiple lines of all-natural pet supplements and interactive toys, has announced partnership with Affordable Pet Supply, an east coast pet-product distributor. Starting April 1st, Affordable Pet Supply will carry all lines of Mount Ara, including their newest line of wellness products. The entire line can be found on the Affordable Pet Supply website and is available for order.

“We have been looking to grow to the east coast since the start of 2023, it’s just been about finding the right partner. When I spoke with the team at Affordable Pet, I just knew they were the one. As a family- owned business, working with a company that has those same family-based values is really important for me,” said Vartan Seferian, CEO of Mount Ara.

Mount Ara has been slowly expanding its footprint for the last 3 years and has grown into over 2000 stores nationwide. Their top selling line, Chill by Mount Ara, uses calming ingredients like melatonin and chamomile to help dogs relax without relying on CBD as an ingredient. Mount Ara manufactures all products in conjunction with a top food-science program at the University of Nebraska and has unique products and formulas that exceed label-claim qualities.

“We love the alternative to CBD that Mount Ara offers. When you realize that they make their own products and they have control over the ingredients and the entire process, it makes you feel so comfortable carrying a line that actually does what it claims to do. We have already seen a huge number of ISOs; our customers are thrilled to have a totally unique product offering. It looks great in our catalog,” says Chuck Smyser – owner of Affordable Pet Supply.

Affordable Pet Supply has been serving the indie pet market for almost 30 years and has a five-state weekly delivery as well as nationwide outreach with their common carriers.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
