(PRESS RELEASE) Pet ownership continues to evolve in 2020 and as pets continue to gain more space in the household, consumers are more educated on the health benefits of a thoughtful diet. In fact, pet owners are mimicking human diets in the foods they choose for their pets and looking for food that meets specific dietary needs and features premium ingredients and complex flavors to satisfy cravings.

CookiePal, a new line from Pet Pal Products, meets the rising consumer demand for high-quality treats that play an active role in a healthy diet. The dog treat line is produced in a human-grade-certified food facility using human grade organic ingredients and held to the highest level of food safety conditions. Most pet foods are manufactured in licensed pet food facilities which are not held to the same standards as human food. Additional features include non-GMO project-verified, gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free.

“Pet owners are more knowledgeable than ever about dog food and are eager to understand ingredient lists, nutrition facts and how their chosen food aids in the overall health of their pet,” said Alex Kakish, president, Pet Pal Products. “CookiePal treats feature high-quality, tasty, human-grade ingredients to deliver delicious treats that dogs love.”

Common dietary allergies in dogs include beef and chicken and because of this, pet owners are driven to products that feature alternative vegetarian proteins and unique flavor combinations.

CookiePal is made with organic and simple ingredients in a human-grade, peanut-free facility and features top-quality functional ingredients like oat and lentils, molasses, coconut oil, cashew butter and turmeric. There are several functional ingredients to benefit our dogs such as skin, digestive system, and reducing inflammation.

The current line-up includes:

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
