Optimeal Hires New Sales Manager for the East U.S.

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, N.Y. — Optimeal, Kormotech’s brand of super-premium diets for cats and dogs, welcome Gregory Mandel as Regional Sales Manager for the East U.S. Mandel brings over 15 years of pet industry experience with him to his new role, where he will be responsible for introducing Optimeal’s products into independent retail stores and creating market share within the eastern U.S. territory.

As Optimeal’s in-store presence grows, Mandel will work with store employees to educate them on the Optimeal brand, highlighting nutritional benefits, its uniqueness and the brand’s overall differentiators in the marketplace. He will also help manage the brand’s exclusive distributor, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, by working with management and the inside and outside sales teams to inform and train them on the complete Optimeal product line.

Before joining Optimeal, Mandel served as Director of Sales at Blue Buffalo, where he developed and implemented sales strategies for eight territory managers in the Eastern U.S. and annually exceeded sales targets by 75% on average. While at Blue Buffalo, he was recognized with the Blue Buffalo Hall of Fame Award for being a top performer and for his overall contributions to the company. Prior to that, he served as District Sales Manager at MARS under its Pet Division, where he managed key accounts like Petco and PetSmart, along with other large volume chains. At MARS, Mandel earned awards for being top in sales and public speaking, for training the most retail store employees nationally and for gaining distribution into most retail stores.

In his spare time, Mandel loves spending time with his family, which includes his two English Bulldogs, Byron and Randall. He’s also a New England Patriots superfan, music lover and enjoys going to the beach.
