Phillips Adds Blue Ridge Beef’s Raw Food

It offers meat and meat products without preservatives or additives.

(PRESS RELEASE) Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, a distributor serving the independent pet channel, recently added Blue Ridge Beef’s natural raw foods to its Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and South Carolina distribution centers. Blue Ridge offers meat and meat products without preservatives and additives.

Sold frozen and thawed for serving, Blue Ridge dog and cat foods use 100 percent natural proteins, including beef, chicken, duck, green tripe, quail, rabbit, turkey and venison. BRB Complete for dogs includes meat, organs, kelp, vegetables, fruit, herbs, vitamins and minerals. The Blue Ridge line has ground formulas for puppies and kittens and bones for dogs.

In 2019, Blue Ridge is celebrating 40 years of providing consumers with premium raw pet food. Blue Ridge uses USA-sourced meats and organs from USDA-certified and inspected consumption plants. All Blue Ridge products are processed in its state-of-the-art FDA and USDA inspected facility, which adheres to the same quality control standards as human consumption food production facilities.

“The addition of Blue Ridge Beef’s product line brings greater diversity to Phillips’ Fresh and Frozen category,” says Elizabeth Thibodeau, senior vice president, merchandising and marketing services for Phillips. “Blue Ridge has a proud history of quality and safety, and we are pleased to offer this natural pet food to our East Coast customers.”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
