Phillips Named Exclusive Nationwide Distributor of Freshpet

(Press Release) EASTON, PA — Phillips Pet Foods & Supplies is the exclusive nationwide distributor of the Freshpet product line, effective July 2. The Freshpet partnership is supported by Phillips’ recent expansion of its refrigerated storage capacity for the Fresh & Frozen category.

Freshpet offers products with fresh, whole ingredients that are gently cooked without preservatives and kept refrigerated.

Freshpet’s philosophy is that fresh food is better than manufactured food, natural ingredients are better than artificial and gently cooked food is better than over-processed. U.S.-raised chicken and beef are Freshpet’s top ingredients.

Freshpet foods exceed the Association of American Feed Control Officials minimum standards for canine and feline nutrition. Its products are made of high-quality meat and vegetables and are all-natural, antibiotic-free and preservative-free. They do not contain artificial or chemical preservatives, BHA, propylene glycol, flavors or colors. No Freshpet ingredients are sourced from China, and 97 percent of the ingredients are from the United States and Canada.

Fresh & Frozen is a growing category as the demand increases from pet parents for cleaner, fresher and less processed foods. Phillips expanded its refrigeration capacity for Fresh & Frozen products at all of its 15 distribution centers, in part to accommodate its nationwide distribution of Freshpet. The Freshpet products previously were distributed by Phillips on the East Coast and Midwest through its Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania and South Carolina distribution centers.

“Phillips invested in equipment and labor in order to consistently deliver and ensure the integrity of Fresh and Frozen products,” said Todd Shelton, CEO, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies. “As Phillips focuses on delivering one national distribution network and offering a best in class customer experience, we are proud to have strong relationships with manufacturers like Freshpet and with pet specialty retailers.”
