Portland Pet Food Company Announces New Grain & Gluten-Free Dog Biscuit Flavor

(PRESS RELEASE) PORTLAND, OR – Portland Pet Food Company (PPFC), a manufacturer of human-grade pet food meals and treats, has expanded its line of Grain & Gluten-Free Biscuits for dogs with the release of a new flavor: Apple & Mint. The new biscuit will be debuted at Natural Products Expo West and Global Pet Expo this month and will be available to consumers at pet specialty retailers throughout the country and online at PPFC’s website.

Made with just five ingredients, the Grain & Gluten-Free Apple & Mint Biscuits include fresh, organic, Northwest-grown Seely Mint and Bob’s Red Mill Garbanzo Bean Flour, as well as pureed apples, smooth peanut butter and parsley. The fresh, human-grade ingredients are mixed and then baked to perfection, providing dogs with a crunchy plant-based treat that helps to freshen breath, clean off tartar and soothe digestion.

Like all PPFC dog biscuits, the new Apple & Mint flavor is baked twice to create a light, crumbly texture, making them ideal for dogs who have difficulty with chewing and allowing dog owners to easily break them into smaller pieces for use as a training aid or reward. Apples and mint are both great sources of Vitamin C and A, which contribute to a dogs immune health and bone health.

“Our Grain & Gluten-Free Biscuits are great for all dogs including senior dogs, dogs with allergies and dogs on a grain-free diet,” said Katie McCarron, founder and top dog at PPFC. “We’re excited to expand the line to offer a new and refreshing plant-based treat made from all-natural local ingredients, providing dogs with benefits beyond just a great-tasting treat.” Our mission is to work with local vendors with clean natural ingredients and we thought Seely Mint Farm would be a great partner.”

“We are honored to be working with Portland Pet Food Company—a brand that also strives to offer pure ingredients while prioritizing local suppliers with sustainable practices,” said Mike Seely, CEO of Seely Mint. “As a third generation Oregon mint farmer, I am well aware of all the natural benefits of mint for both humans and pets, and we are thrilled to be part of Portland Pet Food Company’s newest line of award-winning dog treats.”

All PPFC dog treats are made with no preservatives, GMOs, BHA, BHT or artificial coloring, and their packaging is earth-friendly and BPA-free. The new Grain & Gluten-Free Biscuits in Apple & Mint, as well as the three existing flavors (Bacon, Gingerbread and Pumpkin), are now available for purchase online and will be available in pet specialty and natural grocery in the near future for a suggested retail price of $9.99.

*PPFC will be in booth N2039 at the Natural Products Expo West trade show and booth 1126 at the Global Pet Expo trade show.
