PrettyLitter Teams Up with the Humane Society of the United States’ Pets for Life Program

(PRESS RELEASE) LOS ANGELES – Cat litter company PrettyLitter announced a $100,000 product donation partnership with the Humane Society of the United States and its Pets for Life program. Nearly 20 million pets live in poverty with their families in the United States and the economic burden to care for those pets has been intensified due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The donation will roll out over the next few weeks to the Humane Society of the United States’ Pets for Life locations in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, where teams will deliver the litter to clients.

As a feline wellness company, PrettyLitter is focused on the long-term health goals of cats. With the present 11.1% unemployment rate in the U.S. due to COVID-19, PrettyLitter understands that every dollar counts. The product can alert owners to potential health issues including urinary tract infections, bladder crystals and the visual presence of blood by changing color, which in turn can end up saving pet parents money long term.

Pets for Life is designed to increase equity in access to veterinary care for all people and their pets regardless of socio-economic status.

“The economic impact of COVID-19 has created an even heavier burden for cat owners who are living in poverty across the country. We are proud to partner with the Humane Society of the United States to get much needed supplies to those households,” said PrettyLitter Founder and CEO Daniel Rotman. “PrettyLitter knows that your cat is a family member. We understand that poverty and loss of a job can lead to the immeasurable pain of surrendering your pet. Working alongside the Humane Society of the United States’ Pets for Life program, we are committed to helping to keep families and their fur kids together.”

“We are thrilled to partner with PrettyLitter to support people facing increased financial challenges due to the pandemic,” said Amanda Arrington, senior director of Pets for Life at the Humane Society of the United States. “Providing resources during these difficult times to honor the love people have for their pets is what Pets for Life is all about.”
