(PRESS RELEASE) KING, NC — Five professional pet-sitting business owners have been named finalists for Pet Sitters International’s 2022 Pet Sitter of the Year Award, the industry’s highest honor.
Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s leading educational association for professional pet-sitting and dog-walking businesses, congratulates the following top-five finalists who will move forward to the next round of judging for the 2022 award:
- Andre Cardoso, Grateful Companion Pet Care, Hollywood, Florida
- Kelly Detherow, Just Fur-Babies Professional Pet Care Services, Olathe, Kansas
- Kimberly Maevers, Fun Fur U – Antelope Valley, LLC, Lancaster, California
- Lyndsay Shackelford, Dogs of Charm City LLC, Baltimore, Maryland
- Morgan Andenas Weber, Lucky Pup Adventures, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Since 1995, PSI has selected one pet-care business owner annually to be named Pet Sitter of the Year. Nominees are evaluated on stringent criteria including client and professional references, commitment to quality pet care and professionalism, contributions to the local community and industry-at-large, and commitment to continuing education.
“PSI’s Pet Sitter of the Year recipient serves as the ‘face’ of our industry and represents the high-caliber pet-care service providers that make up this industry,” said PSI President Beth Stultz-Hairston. “These top five finalists all possess the professionalism, pet-care knowledge, business savvy and commitment to customer service needed to thrive in the world of professional pet sitting, so narrowing the field down to one winner will be no easy task.”
The top finalists now move on to the next round of the judging process, where a panel will review and score the finalists’ submissions and supporting materials. The 2022 Pet Sitter of the Year will be announced in January 2022.
