Roman Dog Launches Leashes and Collar line, Partners with DOG for DOG

(PRESS RELEASE) LOS ANGELES — A new premium line of pet products is off the leash in Los Angeles. Roman Dog releases its new line of handmade, original dog products. It will include collars, leashes, and even waste bag holders. They are currently available on their website (www.roman.dog) and in select boutique stores.

Max Wunderlich founded the company after he became consistently underwhelmed by the options available for his own dogs Turkish and Roman. He started tinkering with leather with intent of creating something that was unique, simple and incredibly durable. “I wanted something better for my boys,” he says, “and I’ve always been a designer and maker.” Wunderlich went to school to be a production design engineer, fell into a job designing products for bicycles, and now uses his skills to create handmade dog products for the world to enjoy.

Made out of natural, vegetable tanned, bridle quality leather and hardware, these leashes and collars are designed to flex and move with your dog – limiting the chafing that can occur with other products. The decision to use top quality leather was deliberate according to Wunderlich, “We have an obsession with materials. For us, the touch and feel of a product can say as much as how it looks. Quality, genuine leather carries a gravitas and warmth, as well as durability that synthetic materials cannot match.” They shun superfluity for simplicity, and focus on allowing the function of the product to drive the direction of styling, which you can see in the tiniest of details. It pays off too, as the pieces are minimalist but stunning. Following a mantra of substance over style, they are also almost impossible to chew through and are made to last a lifetime with minimal maintenance.

Currently, leash and collar prices begin at $25. The pieces are handmade and original. Every step of the process, from idea to production, is completed with the utmost care and attention. They produce in Los Angeles so that they can have total control over the creation of pieces. There is an altruistic side of Roman Dog as well. In order to support small businesses such as themselves, their products are completely American made and locally sourced.

Roman Dog’s mission of creating premiere and ethically manufactured pet products drew the attention of national line DOG for DOG. Founded in 2010, DOG for DOG is a high-quality, natural ingredient dog food, treats, toys and accessory products company whose business model is donation based. For every product sold, a monetary donation is made to a dog or shelter in need. DOG for DOG has a community committed to enhancing the life of man’s best friend — making it a perfect partnership for Roman Dog. DOG for DOG’s Roman Dog line will be released just in time for the holidays, and will follow all of Roman Dog’s standards for quality with a portion of all sales going to help the dogs who need it most.
