Target Opens Small-Format Store in Times Square

Target (Minneapolis) has cut the ribbon on a 33,000-square-foot store in Times Square, the latest addition to a small-format fleet that includes more than 140 locations.

The store’s external hallmarks are an 84-foot-high curved digital display and an illuminated sign depicting the retailer’s Bullseye the dog mascot.

Inside, design elements pay tribute to the Big Apple, including mosaic tiles spelling out “Times Square.” Exposed ceilings and suspended steel panels channel the industrial vibe of a subway platform, Target said. The store also features a CVS pharmacy and grab-and-go food pickup.
