(PRESS RELEASE) MASSAPEQUA, NY – The K9 Shop located in Massapequa, NY announces that pet nutritionist Billy Hoekman, the vice president of nutrition and communication for Green Juju, will be hosting a live in-person event ‘An Evening of Pet Nutrition’ on Saturday, November 6, 2021, beginning at 6:30 pm held at the Massapequa location (939 Broadway Avenue, Massapequa, N.Y. 11758).

Pet parents that want to know more about pet nutrition, feeding their dogs or cats a raw food diet, will be able to learn from one of the pet industry’s most well-versed pet nutritionists.

“We are so excited to be hosting Billy Hoekman so well known in the raw feeding and pet nutrition community within the pet industry. Billy is a wealth of information – and will be providing pet parents the nutritional education they have been craving,” said Robert Tucker, co-owner of The K9 Shop.

Mr. Hoekman will be addressing many topics that a lot of pet parents just don’t know about, such as: pet food regulations, breaking down what is allowed by the AFFCO, what pet parents need to understand about feeding raw or home-cooked pet food and so much more. Billy will be able to dispel myths and misinformation about pet nutrition, which is so often in the headlines today – which can lead to a lot of confusion for the average pet parent.

“This is our first event at our newer and bigger location in Massapequa, N.Y. We are thrilled to be able to provide this for pet parents who are thinking about feeding their dog or cat a species-appropriate raw diet. They will learn so much at the event that we encourage people to bring their questions for Billy,” said Anya Tucker, co-owner of The K9 Shop.

The schedule for this event is as follows:

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
