(PRESS RELEASE) STAMFORD, CT – The American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) have released the schedule for the 2022 Global Learning Series. Free for all qualified and registered Global Pet Expo attendees, the Global Learning Series is designed to reflect sound adult learning principles and the best thinking in the field, informed by theory, research and practice. Global Pet Expo will be held March 23-25, 2022, in Orlando, Fla., in the South Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center.

The Global Learning Series delivers over 40 sessions with learning pathways developed for retailers, distributors, exhibitors and special interest groups in the pet care community. Each session provides actionable takeaways from inspiring, experienced speakers and subject matter experts sharing essential learning for organizational growth in today’s business climate.

“Education and organizational growth are more important than ever. Our goal in 2022 is to create a dedicated area for all attendees to learn and take advantage of as many free educational opportunities as they would like,” said Celeste Powers, president of PIDA. “From workshops to presentations, the Global Learning Series consists of real-world learnings that make a real difference for businesses. Plus, there is a type of format for every kind of learner.”

Business-focused, education sessions are traditionally one of the most beneficial aspects of Global Pet Expo, giving attendees exclusive access to experts on industry trends, business strategy and leadership development. This year’s Learning Pathways will include:

  • Retailer Success Series – Presented by retail industry experts in knowledge areas including Customer Experience, Human Resources, Leadership, PR & Marketing and Profitability & Growth
  • Market Data/Insights – The latest data in pet ownership, profitability and more
  • Retail Market Tour – A unique learning experience at storefronts in the Orlando area led by a knowledgeable pet industry consultant
  • Paws2Learn Mini-Sessions – Quick, on-the-go learning experiences covering trends, initiatives and good works in the pet care community

At Global Pet Expo, more than 1,000 companies from around the world showcase the latest and greatest products available for all types of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, small animals and horses. The show features more than 3,000 product launches and nearly 300 first-time exhibiting companies. Preview the latest product launches at the 45,000-square-foot New Products Showcase, the largest new products showcase at any pet products industry trade show.

“After months of anticipation, we are looking forward to safely bringing together the pet care community for three days of discovering the newest, most innovative pet products on the market today, learning from the experts about what it takes to succeed in the thriving national pet industry and networking with peers,” noted Andrew Darmohraj, APPA executive vice president and chief operating officer.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
