American Pet Products Association Announces Staff Promotions

(PRESS RELEASE) STAMFORD, CT – The American Pet Products Association has announced two staff promotions.

Jennifer Skelley, who previously served as director of communications and public relations, has been promoted to senior director of communications and public relations. Skelley has been with APPA for nearly 15 years and oversees all communications efforts including public relations, social media and website content for the Association, APPA’s Pets Add Life (PAL) campaign, and Global Pet Expo, the pet industry’s largest annual trade show.

Skelley plays an integral role in developing and implementing association-wide marketing communications plans that serve to promote and advance APPA, its members and the pet industry. She is a founding member and serves on the steering committee of APPA’s Professional Women’s Network and was named among the 2015 Pet Age Forty Under 40. Skelley is also a member of the American Society of Association Executives, International Association of Exhibitions and Events, American Marketing Association, and Public Relations Society of America and is a graduate of Boston College, where she earned a dual degree in communications and sociology.

Josh Vetere, who previously served as manager of sales and marketing, has been promoted to senior manager of sales and marketing. Vetere has been with APPA for 13 years and assists with all sponsorship opportunities at Global Pet Expo and the Pet Industry Leadership Conference. His responsibilities include reviewing marketing and advertising materials for Global Pet Expo, creating annual advertising plans that align with the Global Pet Expo theme to help create brand awareness and preparing the sales guide and securing sponsorships for the Pet Industry Leadership Conference.

Vetere is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, New York Society of Association Executives, and the International Association of Exhibitions and Events.Vetere obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Connecticut, Stamford.
