APPA Names General Counsel

Julia Fidenzio

(PRESS RELEASE) American Pet Products Association CEO Steve King has announced that Julia Fidenzio, now in her 14th year with APPA, has been promoted to vice president of government affairs and general counsel.

Fidenzio succeeds Ed Rod, who is retiring after more than 13 years of service with the association. Most recently, Fidenzio served as the association’s senior counsel and director of industry relations. In her new role, she will oversee all legal, regulatory and legislative activities for APPA. Likewise, Fidenzio and her team will assist APPA members by tracking new developments in state and federal laws that impact the pet industry, sharing educational content, initiating cooperative efforts with other interest groups, and advocating members’ concerns with government leaders.

Fidenzio attended Boston University School of Law, where she earned a master of law in international law. Additionally, she earned joint postgraduate diplomas of advanced specialized studies in international law and business legal counsel from Montpellier University School of Law, and a Masters degree in Business Law from the University Paris XI School of Law. Fidenzio is a member of the American Bar Association and New York Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in New York and France. She lives in Westchester, NY, with her husband, two children, and furry family members Kenzo and Shadow.

“On behalf of the American Pet Products Association, I am proud to congratulate Julia on her well-earned advancement within the association,” King said. “She is a talented attorney and I am delighted that she has agreed to take on additional responsibility as general counsel.”
