(PRESS RELEASE) Pet care startup Bundle x Joy has closed a $1 million seed round led by Leap Venture Studio and participating investors, including Mars Petcare Companion Fund, R/GA Ventures, Michelson Found Animals Foundation, and Joe Cloyes (co-founder of Youth To The People). The investment from Leap Venture Studio backs its mission to support brands innovating in new spaces and continuing to create a more innovative world for pets and their people.

“We believe that the pet industry is hungry for the next generation of pet companies, brands and products leading with purpose first. As a Latina-founded business, we are proud to represent the next generation of pet companies that are building a diverse and inclusive community that’s representative of real pet people today,” says Founder and CEO Jess Berger. “We are excited about the opportunities that partnering with Leap Venture Studio will unlock for Bundle x Joy and look forward to the next chapter of growth ahead.”

Bundle x Joy shakes up the pet industry by putting purpose at the center of your pups’ health with premium superfood nutrition, curated product bundles, and a 3% give-back to help fund women in entrepreneurship and local communities. Bundle x Joy works closely with nutritionists to craft formulas that simplify pet nutrition and create more time for joy with our pups. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, Bundle x Joy offers personalized pet care products and bundles that meet the needs of your furry best friend across food, treats, and supplements, all with a new generation of pet people in mind. Bundle x Joy prides itself on being woman-led and Latina-founded, and part of the company’s mission is to bring more diversity, representation, and inclusion into the pet industry.

“As a Latina founder, I am acutely aware of my responsibility of setting a path forward for underrepresented founders in the pet industry. I spent 10 years dreaming of owning my own pet company but struggled to identify with any founders that looked like me in the space. Unlike the competition, we are working closely with other pet brands and founders to collaborate, building a community of like-minded pet people and products — all while chasing joy with our pups,” states Berger.

After only four months of its online debut, Bundle x Joy has picked up key distribution with over 450 retail locations, including Sprouts Farmers Market, Whole Foods Market, and select specialty shops. The team plans to use proceeds from the raise to expand distribution, enhance its digital capabilities and invest in their growing team. By Summer 2023, Bundle x Joy intends to double its retailer footprint nationwide.

In addition to retail, Bundle x Joy is available direct-to-consumer through its website and Amazon.com. For as little as $2 per day, the brand delivers joy to your dog’s doorstep with one-time purchases, convenient subscriptions, and personalized bundles across its line of superfood-packed food, treats, and supplements.
